"The Community Library of the Shenango Valley welcomed a new director earlier this year.

She’s been enjoying the job during her first few months and is looking forward to what lies ahead.

“It really is wonderful to have that opportunity to be able to put my own mark on it, something that I’ve loved since I was three years old.”

It’s been six months since Gabrielle Lucas became the new director for the Community Library of the Shenango Valley–a job she’s carrying with a lot of weight...

Lucas graduated with her undergrad in 2022 from Westminster, majoring in history and political science.

In 2023, she began working at the library, working in adult services, before moving to the New Castle library."

"The Dallas Public Library is cutting its adult education programs, including classes for English language learners, as the city tries to deal with a $51 million budget shortfall. Similar resources will now be much harder to find, especially for undocumented students, one library volunteer told NTX Now.

The program elimination was necessary to keep all of the city's library branches open, Library Director Manya Shorr previously said. The system is also cutting more than 70 positions, about 30 of which are currently filled, according to The Dallas Morning News."

Schottlaender has excelled in each of these areas."
